Job Descriptions for the EOU SIFE Team

President

  • Will be an active, exemplary member of the SIFE Team, and willingly serve as an example for the rest of the SIFE Team.
  • Will oversee the Executive Board and the active SIFE members.
  • Will make contacts, plan projects, and direct the content and look of presentations. ¨ Will be a liaison between the SIFE Team, Team Advisor, EOU faculty and other school officials.
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).

Vice President

  • Will assist the President with making contacts and project planning.
  • Will form committees as needed for projects.
  • Will oversee and participate in budgeting and financing issues.
  • Will ensure project rules are known and complied with.
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).

Correspondence Director

  • Will take roll and minutes from each meeting.
  • Will distribute weekly minutes on the EOU SIFE Listserve by 5:00 p.m. the next day.
  • Will add/remove members from the EOU SIFE Listserve.
  • Will document and organize the active members' information (e.g., phone numbers,
    e-mail addresses).
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).

Finance Director

  • Will be in charge of preparing a budget for the year.
  • Will keep accurate records of costs/expenses for projects throughout the year.
  • Will assist with fundraising by exploring new sources of funds, and requesting donations as needed.
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).

Activities Director

  • Will organize and setup EOU SIFE Team areas at events (to be specified), reserve rooms when needed, and ensure that necessary equipment is obtained and available.
  • Will make signs/posters for EOU SIFE projects that require such advertising.
  • Will assist Communications Director in writing and distributing press releases in accordance with SIFE standards, as well as the use of media to maximize gross impressions.
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).

Communications Director

  • Will collect and organize all documentation from projects to use for competition, while ensuring that all criteria in projects for (special, regional, and national) competitions are met and/or exceeded.
  • Will write and distribute press releases in accordance with SIFE standards.
  • Will keep accurate records of gross impressions and use media in order to maximize the number of total gross impressions.
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).

Technology Director

  • Will build and/or maintain the EOU SIFE Team web site.
  • Will assist with the technical aspects of presentations.
  • Will assist Activities Director with producing signs, posters, brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Will assist in any areas as needed.
  • Will attend all meetings.
  • Will chair committees (See Constitution: Article V, Section 4).
