A micro-enterprise
project by the SIFE Team, in its second year, in which the
Team identified a need, developed a product, marketed the
product, and sold the product for profit. SIFE developed "Varsity
Tailgating" t-shirts in order to boost support for our lack-luster
football team, as well as to profit the SIFE Team. SIFE purchased
95 long-sleeve navy blue t-shirts, designed a logo for the
front and back, and printed them at a local shop for a discount.
The shirts were sold at two home football games.
Results:
SIFE sold 90 shirts, each providing a $4 profit for the Team.
This total of $360 was an 80% increase in revenue over last
year's business.
