  • NAAMP is a collaborative program between EOU, Sunridge Middle School in Pendleton, and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR).
  • NAAMP provides a way for American Indian/Alaskan Native and other students from diverse backgrounds to follow traditional ways of giving back to the community by mentoring Native American middle school students.
  • EOU began the NAAMP program in 1999 to help retain students at the university level and to provide Native American middle school youth with a positive adult role model.
  • Last year, NAAMP had twenty-eight trained EOU student mentors and twenty-five mentees.
  • NAAMP mentors have weekly contact with their mentees.
  • EOU students have an opportunity to earn upper division elective credits for their nine-month commitment to the program.
