The Student Health Center focuses on the individual as a person, encouraging clients to take responsibility for their own well-being.  Our emphasis is on promoting healthy lifestyle choices and health care decisions. We strive to practice with consideration of the effects that health problems have on individuals and their families and to treat problems considering personality, lifestyle and cultural factors.

Each year Eastern Oregon University initiates a program for student health insurance. We believe this program provides improved coverage at a lower cost to our students.

 

WE DIAGNOSE and TREAT

• Common acute illnesses such as allergies, earaches, sore throats, bladder infections,

  vaginal infections, sexually transmitted diseases.

• Common injuries and trauma:  sprains, lacerations.

• Chronic illnesses:  diabetes, hypertension and depression.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES WE OFFER

• Immunizations
• Sports Physicals
• Health Physicals
• Comprehensive women's health care, including pap smears and family planning
• Health care education such as diet, stress management, exercise
• Individualized health counseling
• Connect students with campus and community resources

If you have special health needs, we are happy to coordinate your care with the specialists you may need and help you access community resources.

AFTER HOURS CARE

Severe injuries or illnesses occurring after hours can be evaluated at the Grande Ronde Hospital Emergency Department at the student's expense.  Grande Ronde Hospital is located at: 900 Sunset Avenue, La Grande, Oregon.

We advise that you only use the Emergency Room for truly urgent circumstances, as it is very expensive and may not be covered by your personal insurance.
