Each year the 354th GOLD conduct two Field Training Exercises (FTX's), one in the FALL term and the other in SPRING.  The purpose of these exercises are to allow the Officer Candidates the opportunity to exercise what they have learned in the classroom and apply those skills in a field environment.  Both FTX's are normally conducted over three days and two nights, which also gives Officer Candidates the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while under diverse conditions (i.e. daylight, night, rainy conditions, and sometimes fair conditions).  It is an excellent learning experience.
