Janet Jessup
I would like to be elected Senator of EOU because I believe that I can serve Eastern’s students and better their college experience. I have been involved in ASEOU for the past two years: one as a student at large and one as a senator. These opportunities to serve have instilled in me a desire to serve my fellow students and the knowledge that I can effect positive change. This past year, I have served on multiple committees that required a significant time requirement but feel confident that I can continue to do so in service of my fellow students. I am willing to put the time and energy into being the best student representative I can possibly be and am willing to work with students, faculty and administrators to make that happen.
I believe that a strong campus community is one in which students, faculty and administrators freely exchange opinions, ideas and aspirations to the betterment of the university as a whole. I intend on accomplishing this goal by being active on committees and interacting with faculty and administrators to better the student’s experience. I am involved in Pre-Law Society on campus, served as a TA for multiple classes and enjoy working with faculty members in my major on an extracurricular basis (i.e. new faculty searches, research). These activities are important to me. During my past year of service, I have demonstrated my ability to multitask and still deliver quality work in all aspects of my academic career. I would appreciate the opportunity to once again serve as an EOU senator for the 2008-2009 school year.
